In October 2025, Lead With Sustainability’s Founder, Anne Snelson, was delighted to be invited to be a judge on the panel of Landor Links inaugural Decarbonising Transport Awards.
The invitation came on the back of Landor Links training virtually all its staff in Carbon Literacy through Lead With Sustainability and the company beoming a Bronze Carbon Literate Organisation in 2025.
Celebrating innovation and impact
The transport sector is the largest emitting sector of any within the UK so transitioning to low-carbon vehicles is an essential challenge of our time. Recognising and celebrating those leading the way is crucial – not just to reward progress, but to inspire others to follow suit.
Held in March 2026, the awards brought together local authorities, organisations and innovators from across the UK, all united by a shared goal: accelerating the decarbonisation of transport. From active travel and public transport to digital innovation and behaviour change, the breadth of entries demonstrated just how significantly momentum is building across the industry.
Recognising leadership in decarbonisation
The awards are designed to highlight projects and initiatives that deliver real, measurable impact. Entries were judged against robust criteria including carbon reduction, innovation, scalability, collaboration, and leadership – ensuring the winners represent not just good ideas, but solutions with genuine potential to transform.
Innovation at the heart of change
Our founder, Anne Snelson was honoured to present the 2026 Innovation Award to Transport for Greater Manchester for their ‘Streets for All’ design guide.
This award seeks to recognise ground-breaking innovations in the transport decarbonisation space – including urban planning, design and transport-oriented developments.
TfGMs Streets for All Design Guide, prioritises ‘people-focused’ design with the aim of reducing car dependency and creating sustainable, accessible, safer streets.
Thoughts on the awards
Reflecting on the event, Anne celebrated the calibre of entries and the importance of sharing best practice across the industry, noting the “fabulous range of projects” and the value of celebrating achievements across all modes of transport.
